Name Bingo/People Finder
Name Bingo/ People Finder
What is everyone’s favorite word? Their own name. Get pax talking with this simple game. The passengers write down the names of other passengers in the group, one per square. I generally ask them to write my name in the center square. If you are doing a mixer and people can get all the names filled quickly you can do the bingo right away. I usually ask them to fill it out through the day as they meet people and then in the afternoon play the game after a rest break where they can fill in any squares they are missing. You can put everyone’s name in a hat and draw it, but for simplicity I just randomly pick names from my list (or you can have someone close their eyes and point to a name. To make it more personal, after you call the name you can ask “what can someone tell me about _______?” This often sparks funny comments if people were more focused on getting names then getting to know each other. If no one answers you can ask the person who you named a general question: “beach or mountains?” “what are you most excited about on this trip?”. You don’t want to put anyone on the spot too much since not everyone likes the attention, but a simple question that will help spark further conversation or name association for the group is great. They mark of each name off as you call it and yell “bingo” when they have 5 in a row.
There are two versions- one with the people finder (where they look for people who match the descriptions listed) and one without. Depends how long you would like it take. If they do the people finder of course they will have some fun facts about the person. You could also tell them ahead of time that they will need to find out one fun fact about each name they write down.
