Connecting to Coach Screens

See my resource on connecting to coach screens (click here). These are all the connection cords that I mention for the various coaches you will encounter. Thrift stores are a good place to find the RCA and VGA cords and sometimes you can get an HDMI cord there as well. Just check to make sure the ends do not look damaged (often VGA plugs will have some pins missing)

Remember you will need the 3.5 audio cord as well for VGA, listed below in connecting audio.

Connecting Audio to Coach Speakers

See my resource on connecting audio to coach speakers (click here). The two cords that I mention are here.

Coach without Electrical Outlets

When you are on an old coach that does not have outlets and you need to share the one cigarette plug with the driver I use a splitter so we can each have a socket (in case the driver has a GPS that plugs into the cigarette plug). Otherwise, I use the power inverter so we each can have a charger and then the USB outlets as well (go for one like this one, that has actual fuses in it so that if there is a power surge your devices are not destroyed!). Depending on what you are needing to charge, you just may need the USB port, but if you are using a laptop you need the outlet.

Misc Tech

For places that allow personal amplifiers, this is an inexpensive one that works well.

Square is the easiest way to take credit card payments for those times that a passenger has spent all their money and wants to tip you with a credit card (check to make sure it works with your phone- this one works through headphone jack)

This iClever wireless folding keyboard is amazing for your phone or tablets and folds up to about the size of my phone.

If you use a tablet or a 2/1 folding laptop, you can use this to attach to the front of the seat beside you. This way when you are standing up and speaking to the group you have your notes right there. Or if you are doing a presentation on the screen you can view your notes as you give it.

You need to have a power backup that is portable. There are so many out there you can get one even at gas stations. The thing to look at is how much of a charge that it gives you (this larger one can charge a phone a few times while the tiny ones just give you a few more minutes of talking. Most like this one will work with any device, but you need to have your USB charging cord with you to plug into it. Buying one for your specific device is nice to have the cord attached but then it will not charge other devices and if you get a different phone you need to get another one.
